The Lymington Arts Group promotes the enjoyment and appreciation of visual arts and crafts by providing meetings, workshops and outings for our 80+ members and visitors.
We also hold annual exhibitions and sales of member works in a variety of locations, including Lymington during the Spring, Art on the Green – Milford on Sea village green exhibition in August plus the opportunity to show at the July New Forest Hampshire Show and other local fairs throughout the year.
We meet at the Gates Hall, McLellan Room, Lymington Centre, New Street, SO41 9BQ on the 2nd Friday of the month from 2.30pm till 4.30pm with a short break for refreshments to allow time to catch up with fellow members.
During these sessions renowned artists and speakers take the time to share their knowledge and experience with us. Speakers and Demonstrators booked for this year and next are shown on our Home and Events page.
Visitors are welcome for a small fee of £5.00. No need to book just turn up and we promise you a warm welcome.
Our History
In 1979 local artist, Alison Bolton was holding an evening art group, when chatting to a student realised that there was a need for a sociable art evening group where people could meet together to learn about Art, share ideas, view each others works and watch presentations from Art Teachers far and wide.
The primary objective would be that there would be no required standard, all abilities catered for, easy access to venue and a warm welcome to all living in Lymington and surrounding area.
45 years on, our ethos is still the same. We welcome all who would like to share their passion and interest in all art forms to join us.
Our Committee
We have a small group of members who are willing to provide that extra time to ensure that LAGs continue to be a big success – thank you to them all.
If you would like to help with administration of the Lymington Arts Group or have suggestions on how we can improve the sharing of interests then please do not hesitate to contact us via lymingtonartsgroup@outlook.com.
